Who Carries the Agents on the Hypermarket's Books?
Gulf retailers are accruing AI slop debt — unregistered agent fleets, orphaned fine-tunes and unevaluated eval harnesses — faster than they are retiring ERP obligations that run on mainstream maintenance until 2027. Drawing on Majid Al Futtaim and Lulu Retail, this piece argues that any operator reporting agent influence share to a forum or the market, without a corresponding register of owners, retirement dates and downstream consumers, is reporting a liability as a capability.
